Overview

  • Château Haut-Bergey is a wine estate in the Pessac-Léognan region of Bordeaux, particularly known for red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Its history as a wine producer reaches back to the 15th Century, while the current château, built as a leisure residence at a time when the vineyard was abandoned, dates to 1850. The Garcin family have owned and managed the property since 1991. The vineyard slopes gently to the south and southwest, providing the vineyard with drainage, and exposure to the sun makes the grapes ripe, fresh and delicious. Soil is a gravel topsoil covered with a chalky clay layer with iron residue which is a favorable condition for the best growth of the vine.

Tasting Notes:

  • Wine that brings out a striking red color, along with flavors that can be easily perceived as black currant, mineral and chocolate will all appear interestingly in Château Haut Bergey 2016. Moderate wine, textured Smooth and round tannins create the characteristic purity of the fruit. The finish is an aftertaste of lavender, seductive and deep wet earth.
