Overview

• Marqués de Riscal is one of Rioja’s oldest and most famous wine estates. It makes a range of traditional-style Rioja wines made predominantly from Tempranillo, as well as a white wine from Rueda. The company was founded in 1858 by the diplomat Camilo Hurtado de Amézega, the Marqués de Riscal. He had been living in Bordeaux and decided to bring French winemaking techniques back to his estate in Elciego.

Tasting Notes:

• Rioja Reserva 2015 wine is rich in cherry color with aromas of grapes and prunes, faintly notes of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for 24 months, creating a delicate taste with smooth and balanced tannins.
