Overview

• Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon is the appellation title for Côtes de Bordeaux wines made specifically in the Castillon district, at the very eastern edge of Bordeaux. Until 2009, these wines were sold as Côtes de Castillon. All Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon wines are red, made predominantly from Merlot, which accounts for about 70 percent of the harvest.

Tasting Notes:

• Deep ruby in color, with pure cherries and plums, fresh white pepper and subtle toasty oak on the nose. The palate is supple and sweet, with fleshy, juicy fruit at the core and polished but grippy tannins providing the structure. Waves of crisp acidity add great freshness and lift, taming the more exotic edge to the fruit. The finish is long and spicy, with a wonderful savory edge that adds real intrigue.
