Overview

  • Château de Laubade was built in 1870 in the heart of Bas Armagnac and at the same time is Armagnac’s leading winemaker. Not only producing spirits, the factory also produces very good quality red and white wines. Each year on the bottle clearly shows its age, which is a characteristic of Armagnac. Over 80 different vintage varieties mature in the cellar of the Château de Laubade. Today, the oldest vintage is from 1888, each vintage tells a specific story and has its own meaning.

Tasting Notes:

  • Château de Laubade 1982 has wonderful aromas of pipe tobacco, nougat, almond paste, aeration sees the nuttiness take precedence and a brown-butter element emerges. Palate entry is keenly nutty moderately sweet, cocoa butter–like, and a touch oaky or resiny; mid-palate adds a touch of toasted marshmallow. Full-throttle finish in terms of taste.
