Overview

• Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a winery located on a hill above the village of Bages in the Pauillac region of Médoc. Ranked fifth growth in the 1855 Bordeaux wine grading system, the blend comes mostly from the Cabernet Sauvignon variety with a silky texture, with rich flavors. The soil has classical features of the Médoc region consisting of layers of gravel of varying depths, mixed with sand and a little clay. This allows for excellent drainage and adjusts for day-night temperature fluctuations to help plants ripen and deliver perfect sweetness.

Tasting Notes:

• Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Lacoste-Borie gives up notes of warm cassis, Morello cherries and wild blueberries with hints of pencil shavings and bay leaves. Medium-bodied, the palate has a lively line and well-played, soft tannins with an herbal lift on the finish.
