Overview

• Languedoc-Roussillon is a large wine region in the south of France. The east of this area is bordered by Nimes and Montpellier, stretching around the Gulf of Lyon and reaching the Spanish border. Languedoc-Roussillon was previously two independent regions: Languedoc and Roussillon. Although merged into one, the geographical position and cultural characteristics of the two regions differ significantly. Languedoc is very French in nature, while Roussillon is influenced by Spanish culture. While the majority of the Languedoc vineyards are in the coastal plains, the Roussillon vineyards are scattered over the cliffs or the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Tasting Notes:

• La Violette is made entirely from the Syrah grape variety – a popular grape grown in many parts of the world, the wine made from this grape will have a rich, seductive aroma. The main flavors that are easy to perceive right from the smell are fruit flavors coming from red berries, strawberries and delicate black pepper flavor. On the palate, the wine offers a light flavor with just the right amount of tannins for a distinctly deep finish.
